Heart disease or cardiovascular diseases is the class of diseases that involve the heart or blood vessels (arteries and veins). While the term technically refers to any disease that affects the cardiovascular system (as used in MeSH C14), it is usually used to refer to those related to atherosclerosis (arterial disease). These conditions have similar causes, mechanisms, and treatments. In practice, cardiovascular disease is treated by cardiologists, thoracic surgeons, vascular surgeons, neurologists, and interventional radiologists, depending on the organ system that is being treated. There is considerable overlap in the specialties, and it is common for certain procedures to be performed by different types of specialists in the same hospital. Most countries face high and increasing rates of cardiovascular disease. Each year, heart disease kills more Americans than cancer.. A large histological study (PDAY) showed vascular injury accumulates from adolescence, making primary prevention efforts necessary from childhood. By the time that heart problems are detected, the underlying cause (atherosclerosis) is usually quite advanced, having progressed for decades. There is therefore increased emphasis on preventing atherosclerosis by modifying risk factors, such as healthy eating, exercise and avoidance of smoking. From Wikipedia under the

Q. After my daughter's baby was born 8 years ago, my daughter had congestive heart failure. She had another baby 2 years later. My daughter had high blood pressure. She passed away Dec 23, 2009, 2 days before her 36th birthday. We just found out yesterday she died of a heart attack, caused by cardiovascular disease and somehow asthma played a part. I need your help trying to understand this, please My daughter was diagnosed with a heart murmur when she was a child Asked by worried mom - Fri Apr 9 21:38:43 2010 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. The fact that she had asthma is very strongly indicative of the fact that she was NOT breast fed for 2 years and was fed solid food before she was 2 years old to allow the "inner lumen" of her intestines to fully develop to give her good immunity. Congestive heart failure can be due to the heart becoming weak and giving a false signal to the kidneys that she was dehydrated. This causes the kidney to shut down and fluid to build up in the lungs. When this happens, that could have created an asthma event as well. Cardiovascular disease is caused by the blood becoming sticky as a result of homocystein proteins being generated in the blood due to deficiencies of vitamin B-6, B-12, and Folic acid. I also strongly suspect she had acid… [cont.] Answered by onlymatch4u - Fri Apr 9 22:11:14 2010 Can cardiovascular disease affect a womans menstrual cycle?
Q. my girlfriend has cardiovascular disease and shes constantly saying shes late or things like that. so is her heart problem a reason or her age? shes 16 Asked by Chiodos Fan - Tue Jul 28 03:43:31 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. Her age could be a factor. I can't imagine it being her heart. Many young women have irregular periods. Being overweight or underweight, exercising alot, stress, or any number of things can cause it too.
